Sounds like a plan to us. Keep us posted as things progress. We are ready to ride. Miss everybody and can/t wait to start getting together more regularly. Sandy and Gene
Here is the information I promised , word for word as Doc and I recieved. I too will have copies to pass out at our next Ozark Road hog meeting. I Quote; " This year City of Cabool will celebrate Independence Day a little different than most. They will be honoring those that will have the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall displayed for 4 days, July 1st through the 4th. Along with this , they will have a very special speaker, a Covenant with Fort Leonard Wood and a parade. I would like to extend an invitation to ALL veterans and service connected motorcycle clubs, the Christian Motorcycle Association and independent riders that will ride with the Patriot Guards. Clubs that are not in this group and would like to participate may contact me by COB April 30th 2010. Please give me and approximate count of how many bikes, trikes or cages will be in the parade. On June 30th, we have been invited to organize and escort the moving wall into Cabool. this will start from West Plains or Mt. View and will be finalized as we get closer, once we find out the route it takes. On July 4th, we have been invited to be in the parade. As many of you know, this can be difficult with slow speeds and overheating. This is what the city planning committee have asked and agreed to: We will lead the parade. We start our engines just before departure and go through town non-stop and the rest of the parade follows us. They have in turn asked us if we could assemble and park our bikes or trikes where town's folk can have a look at them. The parade will start at 1300 hours ( 1:00 pm ) and will proceed from the east end of town, then turn north to the high school where the parade will end. There, the ceremonies will commence to include a firing squad, the playing of taps, and the folding of the flag, which will be placed in a case and kept at city hall. There will also be a Covenant signing and a few other ceremonies and speakers. I am looking at having everyone assembled 1100 hour ( 11:00 am ) so we can park our rides, get a bite to eat then do the final staging at the start area 1230 hours ( 12:30 pm ). On July 5th we have been invited to escort the Moving Wall out of Cabool. Depending on the direction they decide to take, we would escort them either to Mt.View or Houston .Thanks for what you do. Doc " Also in the letter another invitation has been sent . I quote; " HILLBILLY POSSE MOTOROCYCLE RUN - April 24th at 2pm... Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell will be the coordinator (417) 546-7250 for further info. Motorcycles and Trikes will depart Ozark at 4pm and are scheduled to arrive at the Branson Landing at approximately 4:30 - 4:45 pm. The route will be announced. ALL PURPLE HEART RECIPIENTS ARE TO BE AT THE BRANSON LANDING AT 4PM FOR RESERVED SEATING AND TO WATCH THE PARADE THAT IS IN YOUR HONOR .' " ( This is me, Pamela, talking now ). This is a once in a lifetime experience for most of us. Spread the word and let them know we love and appreciate them. Let's answer these invites with a YES! and show our colors , our true colors !! At our next "Ozark Road Hog " meeting , I will have a list for all who wants to join us, to sign up. They must know how many trikers and bikers are going to there by April 30th Not much time, so hurry. Put your answer on the forum i will get it .Thank You Pamela
